Overlooking the site where the Nahoon River meets the warm Indian Ocean, the Blue Lagoon lies nestled in indigenous, sub-tropical foliage. Easily accessible and close to central East London and inland areas, the hotel offers tranquility and seclusion from the bustle of city life.
Our hotel offers a delightful blend of stylish garden facing hotel rooms or modern luxury two bedroom lagoon facing suites (self catering available), with easy access to the river and beaches. Self catering suites are also available. An additional 27 bedrooms were completed in mid November 2009 where a high security “ladies floor” has been introduced, for your comfort.
The Blue Lagoon offers the Highlander Restaurant, which is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Highlander Restaurant has an enviable reputation of excellent wines, food that roars with flavour and service that whispers. Our Highlander Pub and Tanqueray Cocktail Bar, overlooking the picturesque Nahoon river, against the river bank, makes this the perfect setting for cocktails while being washed by the late afternoon sun.
A new addition to our hotel is an upmarket cocktail lounge, “Upstairs On Blue” which is open to patrons of 25 years and older. This venue is also available for private functions.
The hotel offers four well equipped conference venues which are ideal for seminars, training programmes and executive meetings. Due to our pristine location, the Blue Lagoon Hotel is the perfect venue for team building activities on the beach.
Leisure facilities include a sparkling pool (separate kiddies pool), braai area. Squash and tennis courts are available at the nearby country club. The popular East London Golf Course, which is rated one of the top ten courses in South Africa, is located nearby.
East London is proud of it's unspoilt coastline and Blue Lagoon is situated on the Nahoon Mouth facing the famous Nahoon Reef - a "surfers Paradise".
