Thank you for considering our hotel for your wedding reception, which will be held in the Sunset Restaurant, which overlooks the Nahoon river.
Blue Lagoon Hotel is offering the following Wedding Specials, for 2010:
Accommodation rates : Discounted accommodation rates are offered to your guests, attending your wedding
Complimentary suite : We offer a complimentary night stay on the evening of your wedding, which includes complimentary breakfast the following morning
First anniversary : We offer a complimentary night stay, on your first wedding anniversary
Winter Special : We offer a discounted menu for our winter season (mid May 2010 to 31 August 2010)
Location
The Blue Lagoon Hotel is situated on the banks of the Nahoon river and nestled in sub tropical foliage. The River and Beach make ideal settings for photographs, and are conveniently and easily accessible for Blue Lagoon Brides.
The Sunset Restaurant overlooks the picturesque lagoon, where the Nahoon River meets the warm Indian Ocean - We invite you to share this wonderful venue with us for your special day
Capacity
The minimum number of guests required is a minimum of 50 paying persons and the maximum amount of guests is 130 persons, with space for a dance floor.
Tables
Guests are seated at round tables of 8 / 9 persons per table. We set up a long bridal table.
Linen
No charge for the use of our tablecloths, overlays and linen napkins
Colours include: white, green, black tablecloths.
White, hunters green, red, African print.
You are welcome to bring in your own linen should prefer an alternative colour scheme
White linen for the bridal table is provided with elegant frill
Room Hire / Venue Hire
We charge a 10 % venue hire fee. (10 % on food portion of the account)
The venue hire includes:
Sunset Restaurant as a Venue, round tables and chairs, tablecloths, overlays, linen
napkins (colours specified above), main table and cake table cloth and matching white
pleated frill, linen for buffet as well as white pleated, gifts table, easel for seating plan, Waitrons and
barstaff (gratuity appreciated), large wooden dance floor, booth for DJ, cutlery, crockery, wine and
champagne glasses, silver ice bucket in silver stand per table, complimentary room for the
bride and groom which includes a complimentary breakfast in our Highlander Restaurant.
We clean the venue, you may collect your decorations the following day.
Menus and Costing
We offer a variety of buffet menus and set menu options, to suite your taste. Our menus for year 2010 start from R100 per person, should you wish to view our menus and costing, please do not hesitate in contacting us, on the contact details below.
We offer a “Winter Special” where a discounted Winter menu is served, and available for your viewing, upon request.
We need at least 48 hours notice for the menu and final number of guests to cater for. No left over food may be taken off the premises as we have an on consumption license, not an off consumption license.

Wedding Ceremony
Should you require a wedding ceremony on our premises, we can offer the following:

R2000 (maximum of 60 persons) / R3000 (maximum of 120 persons)

Chair including white chair cover per person
Red carpet or rose petals for Bridal Isle
Arch / podium
Table for signing
Additional extras:
Welcome / celebratory drink after ceremony (fresh fruit punch or champagne) @ R8 per person
Canapés with various toppings @ R15 per person
Conference room:
Bar Service
We have full bar facilities available in the Sunset Function Venue. We will run the bar as you prefer. We do not permit you to bring in your own alcohol, however, we do allow you to bring in your own wine and champagne, where we would charge a corkage of R25 per bottle. We provide each table with a silver ice bucket in a silver stand – no charge. We reserve the right to close the bar at 00h30.
Wines
Please be advised, that all bottles of wine that is ordered in for your function, as requested by yourself, will be charged to your account.
Due to you being charged for all the bottles of wine (whether used or not), and not consumed all of it, you are welcome to take it off the premises after your function, however, the bottle of wine needs to be opened of which we can recork for you.
Blue Lagoon Hotel has an on consumption license, and not an off consumption license.
Welcome Drink
Welcome drinks may be served at our swimming pool area prior to bride / groom arrival (snacks may also be arranged), or off our Sunset deck overlooking the Nahoon river
Non Alcoholic Fruit Punch R10 per person / Alcoholic Fruit Punch R12 per person
Sherry R10 per person
Champagne with strawberry R10 per person (seasonal)

Staff
Waitrons and barstaff will be in attendance for your wedding reception. (Gratuity appreciated)
Wedding Night
We offer a complimentary room on a bed and breakfast basis for the Bride and Groom depending on availability at the time of reservation.
Extras
Wedding Décor / Flowers / Centre pieces Etc for your own account, however, please advise your budget and bring along a few pictures you may have and we will help put your dreams into a reality.
The flowers, cake and music are for your account and by your own arrangement, however, we do have a list of preferred suppliers for your interest and convenience.
Full length white chair covers – R8 per full length, white chair cover. (these chair covers have been custom made, to fit Blue Lagoon Hotel chairs) valid for year 2010
Elegant silver & gold underplates @ R6 per under plate which would be for your own account. (exclusive to Blue Lagoon Hotel brides)
Or
R12 for white chair cover and silver or gold under plate package (valid for year 2010)
Videographer – R2500-00 (exclusive to Blue Lagoon Hotel brides….includes from getting dressed to cutting of wedding cake at the end of the evening) valid for year 2010
Draping:
Draping behind main table with fairy lights – R650 for white draping behind the main table with fairy lights (valid for year 2010).
Draping entire venue – R2500-00 for draping in white, entire venue, including fairy lights behind main table (valid for year 2010).
DJ’s are to end at 00h30. We provide a large wooden dance floor, 6m x 6m in size – no additional cost. Candles are at your own risk. You must have something underneath all candles.
Much damage has been caused even by inburning candles. We ask for your co-operation in this regard. We do ask you to sign that you will be responsible for any damage caused. Please do not hesitate to contact me for contact details for DJ, décor, flowers etc
Preparation:
You may only set up your extras in the venue on the day of the reception. We ask for the venue to be cleared by 09h00, Sunday morning (Day after wedding reception)
Confetti
No confetti, rose petals, rice, glitter or any other item may be thrown / used in the Hotel.
Only rose petals may be thrown in the gardens with prior permission.
Smoking Regulations
Smoking is prohibited in the Sunset however as it has been sold as a private.
venue with invited guests the organizer may allow smoking and the responsibility now lies with the organizer and not the hotel. The hotel staff will direct any problems to the organizer.

Reduced accommodation weekend rates are offered to guests attending your wedding

Our hotel offers a delightful blend of stylish garden facing hotel rooms or modern luxury two bedroom lagoon facing suites (self catering available), against the river bank.
The 103 bedrooms comprises of 36 apartments against the river bank, and 40 single units. Our hotel rooms have recently undergone a refined facelift focusing on décor, comfort and attention to detail.
Baby sitting facilities are available upon request, whilst mom and dad take advantage of the peace and tranquility Blue lagoon Hotel has to offer.
No left over food may be taken off the premises as we have an on consumption license, not an off consumption license.

This is a quotation only, no reservations have been made. We will hold the venue for 48 hours without a deposit. We ask for a R3500 deposit to secure the venue which is offset against your final account. In the event of cancellation the non refundable portion of the deposit will be:- 3 months – 10%, 2 months – 20%, 1 Month -50% and 2 weeks or less – 100% prior to the date of the wedding.
